    Description

Volunteer Youth Development Facilitator and Mentor

    Position Overview

ImpactHumanity is seeking dependable, compassionate volunteers to serve as Youth Development Facilitators and Mentors for our M3 program. Volunteers will work alongside the Executive Director and program team to facilitate curriculum-based sessions, encourage meaningful student participation, and help young people recognize their strengths, learn from their experiences, and build confidence in their potential.

This is an opportunity for individuals who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people while gaining hands-on experience in youth development and program facilitation.

    Responsibilities

    • Support the delivery of M3 curriculum sessions and interactive activities.
    • Help facilitate small-group discussions, reflection exercises, and student journaling.
    • Encourage students to express themselves respectfully and confidently.
    • Help maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
    • Support students as they explore identity, experiences, choices, and personal growth.
    • Participate in program orientation, facilitator training, and brief planning meetings.
    • Provide feedback to help strengthen program delivery and student engagement.

    Qualifications

    • Genuine interest in youth development, mentoring, education, or community service.
    • Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
    • Dependability, patience, maturity, and a willingness to learn.
    • Comfort working with elementary school students.
    • Ability to follow a structured curriculum and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Students pursuing degrees in education, psychology, social work, counseling, human services, and related fields are encouraged to apply. Experienced educators, youth mentors, and community professionals are also welcome.

Prior facilitation experience is helpful but not required. Training and program guidance will be provided.

    Time Commitment

Volunteers will support scheduled M3 sessions and related preparation activities. The specific schedule and commitment will be discussed during the recruitment process.

    Screening and Safeguarding

Because this opportunity involves working with minors, selected volunteers must complete applicable screening, background checks, training, and school or program approval requirements before participating with students.
