2026 Fall Docent Saturday Training Class (Make New Friends Make A Difference It's Fun! * Updated * !!

Become part of our dedicated volunteer family! Adults are invited to learn about Southern California's diverse marine life while training to staff interactive education stations in the Jelly Lab, Aquatic Nursery, and Exhibit Hall. You'll also develop the skills necessary to lead engaging tours throughout the Aquarium.

Volunteers must complete four training sessions followed by two shadowing shifts. Flexible opportunities are available during both weekdays and weekends. Weekday tours run Tuesday through Friday, 9am to 11:30am, from October through March. Weekend opportunities include staffing education stations anytime between 11am to 4pm year-round and leading Saturday morning tours from 10am to 11am.

Sessions provide in-depth information regarding the animals and coastal ecosystems found within the Aquarium and the surrounding Coastal Park. Participants will also learn effective techniques for sharing this knowledge with visitors.
