    Description

    Ajkun Ballet Theatre is seeking a highly organized and visually detail-oriented Volunteer Crowd Supervisor to support the artistic and production teams during rehearsals, photo shoots, filming sessions, and live performances.

    This role is ideal for emerging professionals interested in ballet, theater, film styling, backstage production, costume coordination, beauty direction, or visual storytelling. The Volunteer Crowd Supervisor will help maintain the artistic integrity of performers’ appearance throughout the production process while building a strong professional portfolio in a high-level performing arts environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise and maintain performers’ hair and makeup continuity throughout rehearsals, filming, and performances
    • Ensure consistency of each dancer’s assigned look from scene to scene
    • Assist with crowd and ensemble visual coordination backstage
    • Collaborate with costume, wardrobe, photography, and artistic teams
    • Monitor quick touch-ups before entrances and during intermissions
    • Organize continuity notes, reference photos, and styling charts
    • Support the overall aesthetic vision established by the Artistic Director and production staff
    • Help maintain a clean, efficient, and professional backstage environment
    • Assist with preparation and reset of makeup and styling stations
    • Coordinate timing and flow for large cast appearances and scene transitions

    Ideal Qualifications

    • Interest or experience in theater, ballet, fashion, film, television, beauty, styling, or backstage production
    • Strong attention to detail and visual consistency
    • Ability to work calmly in fast-paced live performance environments
    • Professional demeanor and collaborative attitude
    • Organizational and communication skills
    • Availability for rehearsals, productions, and occasional weekend performances
    • Experience with hair styling, makeup application, costume coordination, or production assistance is appreciated but not required
