Summary Join us for Walk to End Alzheimer's in Knoxville and help create a meaningful, well-run event for 1500+ participants raising funds and awareness for Alzheimer's care, support, and research. We need energetic volunteers to fill a variety of Walk day roles — no experience necessary, just a great attitude and a willingness to help.

About the Alzheimer's Association The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. Our mission is to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Walk to End Alzheimer's is our signature fundraising event, held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide.

What You'll Do Volunteers are needed across several Walk day roles, including:

    • Registration/Check-in: Greet participants, distribute t-shirts and materials, and help process day-of registrations.
    • Route Support/Route Marshals: Guide walkers along the route, cheer participants on, and help ensure everyone's safety.
    • Set-Up/Tear-Down Crew: Help set up tents, signage, tables, and the promise garden area before the event, and pack up afterward.
    • Refreshment Stations: Hand out snacks to walkers along the route or at the finish line.
    • Promise Garden Ambassadors: Help participants understand and place their promise garden flowers, which represent their personal connection to Alzheimer's.
    • Parking/Traffic Support: Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic to keep the site safe and organized.
