    Description

    Legion of Good Will (LBV-USA) is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) ecumenical organization dedicated to provide charitable and educational services for underprivileged families aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

    We are seeking a volunteer in our New York Office to provide administrative and accounting support to senior management. Great opportunity for college students seeking first-time employment experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Represent LBV-USA organization in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner. This role is the face of the organization to all internal and external collaborators;
    • Assist individuals seeking bureau services;
    • Perform calendar management. Organize appointments, take notes, and help in monitoring deadlines;
    • Ensure full phone coverage and message delivery to appropriate staff;
    • Work collaboratively with other administrative team members;
    • Help maintain the organization’s database with data entry and updates.

    Requirements:

    • Adequate English writing for communication outreach and fluency in Portuguese;
    • Must have expertise in all MS Office Applications (Word and Excel). Must be willing to learn new applications as needed;
    • Accuracy, organization, time-management, and efficiency are extremely important in this position;
    • Must be able to work collaboratively and without direction, anticipate the needs of the executive, proactively solve problems and otherwise contribute to the success of the organization;
    • Must be available Monday through Friday, 9 am to 1 pm.

    The volunteer position requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, though the schedule is flexible. A stipend for food and transportation is offered. There is a possibility of hiring.
