    Description

NextKey Housing Access Foundation is seeking a licensed attorney interested in providing pro bono legal support to a growing nonprofit focused on housing access, education, and community workshops.

Potential projects, based on your experience:

    • Review nonprofit governance documents, policies, and compliance needs.
    • Review or develop volunteer agreements, confidentiality agreements, and workshop or community partner agreements.
    • Advise on ownership and protection of the Foundation's educational curriculum and workshop materials, including copyright and trademark questions.
    • Help clarify legal boundaries, conflicts of interest, and appropriate agreements between the Foundation and related businesses.
    • Identify matters that require a specialist or referral.

    Qualifications:

An attorney in good standing who is authorized to advise on the matters undertaken. New York nonprofit experience is strongly preferred. Experience with nonprofit governance, contracts, or intellectual property is welcome; applicants do not need expertise in every area listed.

This is an unpaid, pro bono volunteer opportunity supporting the Foundation. Scope, schedule, and any attorney-client engagement will be agreed before legal work begins. There is no expectation that the volunteer will represent individual housing clients.

Please share your relevant experience, jurisdiction of admission, areas of practice, and general availability. Do not include confidential client information.

Location: Remote, hybrid, or in person in New York City. We are flexible and will agree on an arrangement that works for the volunteer and the Foundation.
