Remote phoneline support for caregivers in need
Details
Description
Good listener?
Caregiver OneCall is actively recruiting volunteers for our caregiver support phone line — with a special need for bilingual and multilingual volunteers.
For someone navigating caregiving, being able to speak with a person in the language they are most comfortable using can make an enormous difference.
No professional caregiving or clinical experience is required.
You do not need to be a nurse, therapist, social worker, or healthcare professional.
Every volunteer completes a training course designed to prepare them before they begin taking calls. The training provides the tools, guidance, resources, and confidence needed to listen effectively, respond with empathy, maintain appropriate boundaries, and help connect caregivers with available support.
We are looking for volunteers who are:
- Compassionate and good listeners
- Reliable and comfortable speaking with people during difficult moments
- Respectful of people from different cultures, families, identities, and backgrounds
- Interested in helping caregivers feel less alone
- Willing to complete our volunteer training course
Bilingual or multilingual volunteers are strongly encouraged to apply
Spanish-speaking volunteers are especially valuable, and we welcome speakers of all languages as we work to make caregiver support more accessible to more communities.
Whether you have personal caregiving experience or simply believe caregivers deserve better support, there is a place for you.
