    Description

    Overview

Safe Haven Space is seeking a Senior Manager, Wellness Programs & Facilitation to provide leadership, structure, and supervision across our mental health and wellness programming.

This role sits above our Wellness Program Coordinators/Facilitators and is responsible for ensuring program quality, consistency, and cultural responsiveness across all offerings.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in group facilitation, program development, and working with diverse or newcomer populations. Licensed clinicians (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist) are strongly preferred, but not required for candidates with deep facilitation and program leadership experience.

    Role Summary

This position will oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Safe Haven Space’s wellness programs, while directly supporting and supervising facilitators.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role, blending program development with real-time coaching and quality assurance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Leadership & Development

    • Lead the design and refinement of wellness programming for youth and families
    • Ensure programs are structured, replicable, and aligned with organizational goals
    • Translate community needs into program models and session frameworks
    • Develop facilitator guides, session outlines, and core curricula

Wellness programs typically involve designing and implementing structured initiatives that support mental and emotional well-being, often including workshops, group sessions, and educational programming

    Facilitation Oversight & Supervision

    • Supervise Wellness Program Coordinators/Facilitators
    • Provide coaching, feedback, and support on facilitation techniques
    • Observe or review sessions and ensure quality and consistency
    • Support onboarding and training of new facilitators

A facilitator’s role is to help groups work effectively, encourage participation, and guide discussions toward meaningful outcomes, requiring strong group dynamics skills and process leadership

    Program Quality & Outcomes

    • Establish basic outcome frameworks and participant impact goals
    • Ensure programs are delivered consistently across facilitators
    • Identify areas for improvement and iterate on program design
    • Support documentation of program impact for fundraising and reporting

    Training & Capacity Building

    • Help build a pipeline of facilitators, including volunteer and stipend roles
    • Develop and deliver internal facilitator trainings
    • Identify opportunities to bring in external clinicians or partners

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with the Director of Programs on strategy and program priorities
    • Coordinate with outreach and partnerships teams to align programming with partner needs (e.g., LSSNCA, Ayuda)
    • Support grant readiness by strengthening program clarity and outcomes

    Qualifications

    Required

    • 3–7+ years experience in group facilitation, program development, or community-based programming
    • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising facilitators or program staff
    • Strong understanding of group dynamics and culturally responsive engagement
    • Ability to translate concepts into structured, repeatable programming

    Preferred

    • Licensed clinician (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist)
    • Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or underserved populations
    • Background in mental health, public health, social work, or related field
    • Experience in nonprofit or early-stage program building
