    Description

    MLK Weekend of Service

    Join Seeds in the Middle for our 17th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend of Service.

    We will be centered at our Spot at 318 Rogers Ave., Brooklyn 11225.

    Events are Saturday, Jan. 17th and Monday, Jan. 19th.

    Volunteers will:

    • help run our pop-up craft market or take part for donation of $75 a table
    • do art table or activities with kids
    • Help give out free fresh bags to those in need
    • Can give healthy cooking demo - (let us know your qualifications)
    • Help at fresh farm stand
    • Make fresh OJ and fresh snacks like parfaits or hot apple cider
    • Flyer in the neighborhood to publicize Seeds in the Middle programs
    • Help make a soup (let us know if you can lead)
    • Face painting for kids
    • Help at our corner playspace - read to kids
    • Can make items for a bake sale to support Seeds in the Middle or can make a soup and/or hot food to give out to those in need or sell for those who can pay
    • Before the event, collect gently used baby/toddler items for our swap or giveaway for our Black Maternal Health program (kids clothes ok also) - at event, run the table...
    • Tutor a child if needed
    • (Monday - run fun children's activities)
    • Remote social media help!
    • Take photos and videos

    All child volunteers must be accompanied by an adult. Can't volunteer but want to help? Feel free to donate to Seeds in the Middle at our linktr.ee/seedsinthemiddle
