    Calling All Pet Owners! Volunteer to Make a Difference in the Lives of Others ~ 32909

    VITAS Healthcare is looking for volunteers who can lick away loneliness or cuddle in a lap.

    VITAS invites friendly and well-behaved pets (and their owners) to join the Paw Pals(r) program, in which animals and their humans learn how to visit patients at the end of life. A registered VITAS Paw Pals(r) visitor can offer comfort, bring back memories, encourage activity and provide unconditional love to VITAS patients.

    Research shows that pet visits can sometimes reach a patient when no one else can. Paw Pals brighten the day for everyone when they visit.

    Paw Pals must be well-groomed and have up-to-date health records .

    VITAS Volunteer orientation is provided free of charge to help you learn the skills required to be an outstanding VITAS Healthcare Paw Pals Volunteer. You and your pet will also need to pass a Pet Screening Session. Time and dates for both the orientation and pet screening are ongoing and flexible.
