Volunteer Opportunity: Change a Child's Life by Volunteering as a Reading Coach! (55+)

Did you know that 70% of students in many of our communities are not reading at grade level? Literations is here to change that.

Literations helps 1st through 4th grade students in Chelsea Public Schools become strong readers, build confidence, and unlock their potential in the classroom and beyond.

Our model is rooted in intergenerational mentoring: older adult volunteer Literacy Coaches work directly with young readers in our partner schools to make measurable gains in literacy. No prior experience is required — we provide all training and ongoing support for our volunteers.

We're looking for volunteers to read with and mentor students at elementary schools in Chelsea. As a volunteer Reading Coach, you will meet with students 1:1 for 30 minute sessions twice a week from October to June. We ask for a weekly time commitment of at least 4 hours.
