'How are you actually doing?'
Not 'how are you' as a greeting. As an actual question, from an actual person who actually wants to know the answer.
SoYouAmI™ is a global community platform built by Invicta Child Foundation. Wellbeing Checkers are the members who do the most quietly important thing on the platform: they notice people and tell them they have been noticed.
Here is what Wellbeing Checkers do:
- Each week, reach out via the platform's messaging feature to a small number of members who have not posted recently or who shared something difficult and then went quiet
- Send a short, genuine, personal message — not a template, not a system notification, just 'I noticed you have not been around. How are you actually doing?'
- Respond warmly to anyone who writes back and engage in a real conversation
- Post a weekly 'Community Check-In' thread on the World Feed: an open invitation for the community to share honestly how they are feeling that week
- Celebrate members who come back after a period of absence — let them know they were missed
- If someone's response suggests they are seriously struggling, flag to the Safe Space team — there is always someone to escalate to
This is not a crisis role. You are not responsible for fixing anything. You are responsible for noticing — and for making sure people know they were noticed.
You are exactly right for this if you:
- Naturally notice when someone goes quiet in a group and instinctively reach out
- Understand that showing up consistently matters more than saying the perfect thing
- Have an hour or two a week to give to genuine human connection
When you join, you get:
- A Wellbeing Checker badge on your profile
- A growing Empathy Score as the community recognises your presence
- The daily knowledge that you were the reason someone felt less invisible
