The National Violence Prevention Hotline is seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteer counselors to help save lives from preventable violence - donating a portion of their time weekly or monthly to answering calls from individuals experiencing violent ideation, as well as those who recognize warning signs of potential violence.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP AND THEN DO NOT GET IN TOUCH. This wastes the hotline's time and resources. By signing up, we will email you and you agree to get back to us in a timely manner to schedule an interview.
As a volunteer counselor, you will provide critical intervention and support to callers in crisis, helping them find alternatives to acting on violent thoughts and guiding them toward safety and healing. Experience in crisis counseling is required, while a background in violence prevention is helpful but not necessary, as we provide specialized training in this area.
24/7 availability. To keep this life-saving service running long-term, we urgently need volunteer counselors to step in and ensure that no call for help goes unanswered.
If you have the expertise and heart to make a difference, please consider joining us in this crucial mission. Your time can save lives.
