    Applicants must be 18+ and commit to at least 3 weeks. Volunteers should be responsible, patient and comfortable with children, respect local culture and follow staff guidance. A valid volunteer visa is required.

    Teaching Volunteer in Tanzania – Support Local Students

    Worthy of Hope Tanzania is looking for volunteers to support local students through educational activities in Moshi, Northern Tanzania.

    Responsibilities

    Volunteers may assist local teachers and staff with:

    • Supporting students during lessons and learning activities
    • Helping with English, reading, writing and basic educational activities
    • Working with individual students or small groups who need additional support
    • Preparing simple learning materials and activities
    • Organizing educational games, creative activities and other interactive learning
    • Encouraging students and helping create a positive learning environment
    • Supporting other educational activities according to the needs of the local project

    Volunteers will work alongside local teachers and staff and should follow their guidance and the routines of the project.

    Qualifications

    Previous teaching or education experience is helpful but not required.

    We are looking for volunteers who are:

    • Patient, responsible and enthusiastic
    • Comfortable working with children and young people
    • Interested in education and community development
    • Respectful of local culture and community practices
    • Flexible and willing to learn
    • Able to communicate in English

    This opportunity is suitable for university students, gap-year travellers, graduates, teachers and professionals interested in education. A minimum commitment of 4 weeks is expected. Volunteers should participate regularly during their agreed placement period and contribute positively to the learning environment.
