    About Abinchi International

    Abinchi International is a mission-driven nonprofit serving communities in Ghana and the United States through nutrition education, sustainable farming and feeding programs, and girls’ education sponsorship. Our work is rooted in service, dignity, cultural respect, and long-term impact.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a Volunteer Public Relations (PR) Volunteer to help shape and amplify Abinchi’s public voice. This role focuses on storytelling, media outreach, and relationship-building to increase awareness of our mission, programs, and impact.

    This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys communication, advocacy, and using words to elevate community-centered work.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with writing and distributing press releases, media pitches, and announcements
    • Help identify and research media outlets, blogs, podcasts, and community platforms
    • Support storytelling around program milestones, campaigns, and impact
    • Draft talking points and short organizational statements
    • Maintain a simple media contact list
    • Coordinate with the content and fundraising teams to align messaging
    • Support visibility for campaigns, events, and special initiatives

    Qualifications

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Interest in public relations, communications, or nonprofit advocacy
    • Ability to write clearly and professionally for different audiences
    • Organized and able to meet deadlines
    • Comfortable using Google Docs/Sheets
    • Experience with PR, communications, journalism, or media outreach is a plus (not required)
    • Respect for faith-aligned, ethical, and culturally grounded storytelling
    • Willingness to learn and collaborate
