Volunteer Event Planner – Help Lead Charlotte's Wheels & Walker-thon

    Volunteer Event Planner – Help Lead Charlotte's Wheels & Walker-thon - September 12, 2026

Assist M.E. is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic volunteer event planner to help organize our annual Wheels & Walker-thon, our signature fundraising event that supports local, low-income, uninsured residents who need mobility equipment. Our organization provides gently used wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, shower chairs, and other medical equipment at no charge, helping hundreds of people each year recover safely and maintain their independence. The Walker-thon is essential to sustaining this mission while also building community awareness and engagement.

We are looking for a volunteer with experience in event planning, fundraising events, project management, sponsorship development, volunteer coordination, marketing, or community engagement. This year, you would work alongside our current event chair to learn the process, coordinate key activities, and help ensure a successful event. Beginning next year, you would have the opportunity to assume a leadership role in planning and managing the event. If you enjoy bringing people together, building community partnerships, and using your professional skills to make a meaningful difference, we would love to hear from you.
