Tuck in calls are done remotely from home. You will be calling families with a patient on hospice at home to see if they need any supplies to get through the coming weekend. The calls are made weekly on Wednesdays any time after 9 and before 7pm or Thursdays between 9 and noon. Those times are so that we can relay the information to the care center and the supplies can get out by Friday morning.
These calls are a huge part of the hospice philosophy of caring for the whole family. The care givers feel like we have their back and see how hard this can be and the patient feels supported and cared for. Even if we just leave a voice mail, the intent is there...we have your back, here is one less thing to worry about.
Are you in the US and over 16? If so respond to this post and our volunteer coordinator Kris will reach out and explain everything. We have lots of different opportunities both in person and remote so if this one doesn't ring the bell we probably have one that does! As the volunteer coordinator it is my job to make volunteering rewarding and easy. I look forward to speaking with you.
Respond to this post and we can reach out and we can answer any questions and fill you in on the details. I look forward to hearing from you!
