SmartResponse Advisory Board Members (Volunteer Opportunity)

    About SmartResponse

SmartResponse works to strengthen disaster preparedness, response, and recovery by connecting organizations, resources, and information to help communities affected by disasters.

    About the Opportunity

SmartResponse is seeking 5–7 experienced professionals to join its Advisory Board and help advance the organization's mission, strengthen its initiatives, and expand its reach and impact.

Advisory Board members will serve as strategic thought partners, working alongside SmartResponse's leadership, Board of Directors, and volunteer teams to identify opportunities, shape priorities, and help chart the direction of ongoing and emerging initiatives.

This is an active, hands-on volunteer opportunity for individuals who want to contribute their expertise, professional networks, and ideas.

    About the Opportunity

Participate in quarterly advisory meetings with the Board of Directors.

Participate in existing volunteer teams based on experience and interests.

Connect SmartResponse with potential supporters and resources and help develop institutional partnerships.

Support organizational sustainability through an annual give-or-get commitment. (This may be fulfilled through personal contributions, fundraising, securing external support, or eligible corporate matching contributions).

The Advisory Board serves in a non-governing capacity. Members will not assume the legal or governance responsibilities of the Board of Directors.

    Areas of Interest and Expertise

Philanthropy and fundraising, corporate social responsibility and private-sector engagement, strategic partnerships and network development, communications and public engagement, disaster preparedness and recovery, organizational strategy, technology and innovation, training and capacity building, and more.

    Ideal Candidates

We welcome experienced professionals who bring relevant expertise, established networks, strategic thinking, and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative, volunteer-driven organization. Previous nonprofit board or advisory board experience is welcome but not required.
