Pet Therapy Volunteer- Support a Hospice Patient Through Pet Therapy

Excell is looking for pet therapy volunteers who are looking to connect with hospice patients. As a volunteer you can create a deep relationship with a patient by providing them with companionship during the end of their life. As a volunteer, you are free to visit patients during the times and dates that work best with your schedule! Some of our volunteers like to connect with patients through reading books, singing, telling stories or playing games. Volunteers might also help with light house or yard work if needed. Our pet therapy volunteers provide both friendship and emotional support through patient’s interactions with both you and your therapy animal. The end of life is difficult, but the presence of a volunteer and a loving pet can make a big difference in a patient’s experience.
