    Description

Central Florida Earth Day Volunteers Needed

Events: 2026 Central Florida Earth Day

Date: Saturday, April 25th, or April 18th event

Central Florida Earth Day is a fun community event in downtown Orlando, FL for EARTH DAY. Our volunteers will setup a fun, learn and play Earth Day Exhibit for kids' participation as a STEM GO-LIVE production. Are you ready to help educate, inspire, and innovate the minds of tomorrow through exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics careers?

Volunteers will support STEM gaming sessions to teach students about the educational benefits of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics careers and fields.

A background screening is required for all volunteers annually. All school boards require a separate volunteer application and background screening for on-campus event participation.

We value the volunteers, students, parents, schools, and communities we serve. All confirmed volunteers during the selection process are required to complete a criminal background check for on-site, in-person events and program volunteer opportunities that engage with schools or students. The National Center for Safety Initiative (NCSI) processes all background screenings.

Submitting a volunteer application or inquiry does not guarantee placement as a volunteer.

Volunteer candidates will be accepted for an event or program on a as needed bases that matches the candidate's interest and have completed the NCSI background screening process. Incomplete volunteer applications or background screening acceptance will not be considered for review.

If there is a suitable volunteer opportunity, you will be contacted by the Program Coordinator. All volunteer applications through Idealist will be kept on file for one year.

Benefits of volunteering with us: (We appreciate you!)

    • A fun, learn-and-play experience at all participating events.
    • A Welcome Card, Onsite Refreshments & Volunteer Gift Bag of goodies onsite.
    • A volunteer letter or certificate of hours completed, if applicable, for high school students or college submission.
    • An invitation to the National STEM Society's fun volunteer appreciation/celebration annual party.

We look forward to your volunteer contribution to our mission!

    Thank you,

    National STEM Society
