    About the Opportunity

The Training Team is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented volunteer to provide administrative, data, and event support throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a variety of projects and would like to use their organizational, communication, and technology skills to support trainings, programs, and regional events.

We have a wide range of projects throughout the year and are happy to match assignments with the volunteer’s skills, interests, and availability.

    Time Commitment

We are ideally looking for someone who can commit approximately 8–10 hours per week. We can be flexible with scheduling and will work with the volunteer to accommodate their availability.

The Training Team is typically in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, with additional days as needed. Wednesdays would be particularly helpful.

Special Event Opportunity: We also have an immediate need for all-day volunteer support on Monday, October 19, at the Fairfax County Government Center for a large regional event.

    What You’ll Do

Depending on your skills and interests, volunteer responsibilities may include:

    • Supporting registration and participant tracking for regional trainings and events
    • Maintaining and organizing spreadsheets, records, and program materials
    • Assisting with data collection and analysis
    • Creating reports, charts, and other visualizations
    • Supporting quality assurance activities by reviewing data for accuracy and completeness, identifying discrepancies, and helping improve tracking processes
    • Assisting with program evaluations, surveys, and compiling participant feedback
    • Preparing and designing training materials, certificates, name badges, signage, and other event materials
    • Providing hands-on logistical support for trainings, conferences, and regional events, including room setup, registration, distribution of materials, and event breakdown
    • Attending trainings and events when additional on-site support is needed
    • Supporting Training Team communications, including newsletters, flyers, and other outreach materials
    • Organizing information and materials for meetings and trainings
    • Providing general administrative and project support as needed

    • A strong written and verbal communicator
    • Comfortable learning new systems and processes
    • Able to work independently while also collaborating with a team

    Helpful, but not required:

    • Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
    • Experience with data tracking or analysis
    • Quality assurance or data review experience
    • Familiarity with Canva
    • Experience using Eventbrite or similar event-management platforms

    Why Volunteer With Us?

This opportunity offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in program support, data management, event coordination, communications, and administrative operations while working alongside a collaborative Training Team.

With a variety of projects throughout the year, there are opportunities to learn new skills, contribute to meaningful work, and take on assignments that align with your interests.

If you are dependable, organized, enjoy variety, and are willing to pitch in wherever needed, we would love to hear from you!
