Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, reliable Social Media Manager to oversee and grow our online presence. This fully remote volunteer role is ideal for someone passionate about digital communication, youth outreach, and all things space. You will shape our voice across platforms, engage with our community, and help ensure the SFCC remains an inspiring and professional presence online.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with SFCC goals.
- Create engaging content—graphics, posts, short videos, stories, and announcements—for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule and monitor engagement analytics.
- Manage official responses to comments, messages, and inquiries in a professional, mission-aligned manner.
- Collaborate with leadership and program teams to highlight events, cadet achievements, community initiatives, and educational opportunities.
- Ensure all content adheres to organizational communication standards and branding.
Qualifications
- Experience managing social media accounts (personal, organizational, or professional).
- Strong writing and visual communication skills.
- Knowledge of platform best practices, analytics tools, and content-creation apps.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain professionalism.
- Interest in space, STEM education, youth programs, or public outreach is a plus.
