Online Volunteer Language Conversation Partner (All Languages)

You already speak a language someone else needs to practise.

Join TEEI Language as an online volunteer conversation partner and help a learner feel more confident speaking at work, in interviews, and in everyday life. Our learners include Ukrainians rebuilding their lives and women working towards new opportunities.

You don’t need to be a teacher. You’ll offer something a textbook cannot: a real conversation with someone who listens.

We welcome speakers of all languages

English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Norwegian, Polish, Italian, Arabic, or another language you speak fluently. You only need to offer one language. Both native and fluent non-native speakers are welcome.

What you’ll do

• Meet learners for friendly, one-to-one video conversations about their interests, work, studies, or daily life.
• Give them space to practise, ask questions, and try again, with patient encouragement and helpful feedback.
• Set availability you can honour and communicate promptly when plans change.

There are no lessons to prepare, assignments to grade, or formal classes to teach. Approved volunteers can also explore opportunities to host group conversations.

Volunteer on your terms

The role is fully remote and open to volunteers worldwide. You choose your availability, how often you volunteer, and whether to continue. There is no minimum weekly commitment or fixed programme term.

Scheduling and video calls take place through TEEI’s platform. TEEI provides onboarding and participant support, and learners participate free of charge.

Who can volunteer

You should be 18 or older, fluent in the language you offer, and comfortable speaking with people from different backgrounds. You’ll need a reliable internet connection and a device suitable for video calls. A LinkedIn account is used for volunteer verification during onboarding.

Patience, curiosity, and reliability matter more than teaching experience.
