Description
Summer teen volunteers are essential to helping the Library during the busiest part of our year. There are two types of volunteer opportunities at Blue Valley:
Summer Reading Volunteers:
Helping children and families select Summer Reading books
- Keep book displays tidy and eye-catching
- Restocking summer reading book displays
Summer Reading Volunteers can expect to earn 16 to 48 hours spaced over the months of June and July, approximately 2 to 6 hours a week.
Materials Handling Volunteers:
Job duties vary from day to day but will include:
- Straightening shelves
- Sorting and shelving library materials
- Pulling holds
- Other duties as available
Material Handing Volunteers can expect to earn 16 to 32 hours spaced over the course of June and July, approximately 2-4 hours a week.
Please Note:
- Volunteers must be 13 years old before June 1, 2026
- Submission of an application is not a guarantee of a position
- Applications must be submitted by the volunteer
- Applicants must sign up for and attend one of the orientation sessions
