Oppia is looking for individuals who are passionate about graphic design to join our Media Creation team, to work with us on creating compelling images that tell the stories of our learners and highlight barriers caused by lack of education, in order to advance the cause of universally accessible education for everyone. Who We Are

The Oppia Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to provide high quality education to all. We do this through the creation and maintenance of our free-to-use web platform and Android app, the coordination of our passionate contributors, and the development of critical partnerships with NGOs in the communities we serve around the world. Our lessons have reached over 2,000,000 users, and learners using our basic mathematics curriculum have seen gains of over 50% from pre-test to post-test. Where You Fit In

Millions of children are not receiving the education they deserve. Of the 61 million children worldwide who cannot attend primary school, 17 million will never step foot into a school if trends continue. In the wake of COVID-19, millions more children are also seeing interruptions in their daily lives, stability, and education - making it even more difficult than before for many students to get the education they need to succeed.

Many people don't realize that a large proportion of the world has limited access to education, and that this denies them opportunities in life, through no fault of their own. We seek to amplify this cause and bring awareness to the voices and stories of these learners, and build a community that advocates for and makes active efforts to support equitable access to education for everyone. We also want more learners and parents in these situations to know about the tools that Oppia provides (such as the offline-playable Oppia Android app with a full interactive basic math curriculum), so that they can make use of them to support their education.

We are looking for graphic design volunteers who are keen to contribute to this impactful mission and help improve opportunities for education for learners around the world. As a member of the Media Creation team, you would contribute to brainstorming and developing innovative ideas for images that align with Oppia's message, as well as potentially assist with captions and copywriting. Experience in brand-building is also a plus! While we’d prefer someone who has experience in these areas, we're happy to work with someone who'd like to learn and develop through this role as well.

• Through powerful storytelling and impactful advocacy, raise awareness about Oppia's educational initiatives and their positive impact on learners and communities, inspiring support from donors, partners, and stakeholders.
