About Activate Green Trust

Activate Green Trust is a youth-led, grassroots organisation dedicated to advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action). We empower vulnerable communities in the Global South to build climate resilience through SDG 13.b and 13.3. To communicate our mission, highlight grassroots initiatives, and amplify our global reach, we are recruiting four proactive, mission-driven Blog Writers to join our global remote team.

The Opportunity

We are seeking creative, research-driven writers who can communcate complex climate issues, environmental policy, and community action into clear, engaging, and accessible digital content. You will work directly with a senior blog writer and strategy team to pitch, research, and draft articles for the official Activate Green Trust website and publications.

We are currently recruiting writers to focus on the following core themes:

• Climate Policy & SDG 13 Insights: Analysing global climate agreements, youth policy advocacy, and regulatory frameworks affecting the Global South.
• Grassroots Community Action: Feature articles highlighting local resilience projects, community stories, and field initiatives.
• Practical & Educational Sustainability: Actionable guides, eco-awareness pieces, and educational breakdowns designed for young leaders and climate advocates.

Responsibilities

• Research and write 2–4 high-quality, well-referenced blog posts per month (500–1,000 words).
• Collaborate with the digital team on SEO keywords, headlines, and content alignment with SDG 13 targets.
• Edit and refine drafts based on feedback from our editorial review team.
• Pitch original ideas for upcoming editorial calendars and awareness campaigns.

Qualifications

• Strong written English skills with an ability to write engaging, clear, and well-structured prose.
• Demonstrated passion for environmental policy, climate action, and SDG goals.
• Ability to distill technical or academic environmental topics for a broader public audience.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of meeting agreed-upon editorial deadlines in a remote environment.

Commitment & Location

• Location: 100% Remote / Global
• Time Commitment: Approximately 3–5 hours per week
• Compensation: This is an unpaid, volunteer editorial position.
