Description
Make a meaningful difference in someone's life by joining Penn Medicine at Home as a Hospice Volunteer. Our volunteers provide companionship and a comforting presence to patients and families during one of life's most sacred transitions.
Possible Responsibilities:
- Visit patients in their homes or facilities to offer friendly conversation, reading, music, or even just your presence.
- Assist with special projects such as creating memory keepsakes, writing cards, or assembling care packages.
- Baking cakes, knitting, assisting in office with administrative task, ect.
- Provide respite for caregivers by offering companionship while they take a short break.
- Participate in Penn Medicine volunteer events and community engagement opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Compassionate, reliable, and respectful of diverse backgrounds and beliefs
- Comfortable visiting patients in their homes are facilities
- Completion of Penn Medicine's volunteer onoarding, background check, and required vaccinations.
Training & Support:
Volunteer receive comprehensive training and ongoing support from the Volunteer Services Team. You'll be part of a dedcicated ntworkof individuals making an impact across regions.
