Young Chefs and Food Bloggers

Midtown Family Services is seeking creative chefs and/or food bloggers to make short videos demonstrating how to use ingredients from our food pantry to prepare simple meals with basic countertop cooking devices like air fryers, hotplates, and microwave ovens.

Create tiktoks, insta reels and videos, YT shorts or long videos, with:

• Food & ingredients from our food pantry
• Inexpensive table top equipment (microwave, hotplate, crockpot, rice cooker, and airfryer)
• In our office kitchenette

The goals are to drive awareness of our pantry and teach low income persons without access to full kitchens or even kitchenettes how to prep simple, quick and healthy meals with basic counter top devices like hot plates, crockpots, air fryers, and microwaves using foods commonly available through food pantries.

Hours: Sign up for a shift or co-ordinate with the office

Note: Bring a partner, either to be the person doing the cooking in the video or to be the videographer. Both of you will earn volunteer hours.

We intend to post the videos on our Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram channels and on our website, etc.
