Board Member: Youth Programs, Education & Community Leadership
Details
Description
Camp Fire Inland Southern California is seeking community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors and help guide an organization serving more than 1,300 students each day through no-cost before- and after-school programs at Title I schools in Orange, Santa Ana, and Garden Grove.
Our programs provide academic support, leadership development, enrichment activities, financial literacy, recreation, and opportunities for young people to build confidence, connection, and a stronger sense of belonging.
This is a governance role focused on strategy, oversight, policy, financial stewardship, and long-term organizational sustainability.
The Board meets six times per year, with three meetings held in person in Orange County and three held virtually. Board members also serve on at least one committee and are expected to actively participate, serve as ambassadors for Camp Fire, and support fundraising efforts in ways that align with their strengths and networks.
The estimated time commitment is approximately 3 to 5 hours per month, including board meetings, committee participation, preparation, and occasional outreach or fundraising support.
We are especially interested in individuals with experience or connections in one or more of the following areas:
Finance, accounting, law, human resources, education, marketing, fundraising, corporate partnerships, nonprofit leadership, community engagement, youth development, or local business leadership.
Prior board experience is helpful but not required. We welcome experienced professionals, community leaders, retirees, and individuals who care deeply about expanding opportunities for children and youth.
Ideal candidates are located in California and able to attend occasional in-person meetings or events in Orange County.
This is a meaningful volunteer leadership opportunity for someone who wants to help strengthen youth programs, support working families, and make a lasting difference in the lives of children across Orange County.
