    Description

    Hospice Volunteer

Volunteers are an essential part of our hospice team, bringing compassion, dedication, and support to patients, families, and staff. Their contributions help uphold our mission to provide comfort, dignity, and care at the end of life.

    Volunteer Requirements

To ensure the best experience for both volunteers and the patients we serve, all hospice volunteers must meet the following requirements:

    • Be 18 years of age or older
    • Be able to commit at least 4 hours per month
    • Be willing to visit patients a minimum of two times per month (for ALL volunteers)
    • Complete a volunteer orientation and training program
    • Demonstrate compassion, reliability, and respect for confidentiality

    Administrative Volunteers

Administrative volunteers support the daily operations of our hospice by assisting with clerical and organizational tasks. Their work ensures that our staff can focus on providing high-quality care to patients and families. Responsibilities may include:

    • Answering phones and greeting visitors
    • Organizing files and maintaining records
    • Supporting fundraising or community outreach efforts

Administrative volunteers play a vital behind-the-scenes role in keeping our hospice running smoothly and efficiently.

    Companionship Volunteers

Companionship volunteers provide emotional support and a comforting presence to patients and their loved ones. They offer companionship through conversation, reading, sharing music, or simply sitting quietly with patients. Responsibilities may include:

    • Visiting patients in their homes or care facilities
    • Providing respite for family caregivers
    • Listening and offering empathetic support
    • Participating in enriching or comforting activities with patients

Companionship volunteers embody the heart of hospice care--offering comfort, dignity, and human connection during life’s most meaningful moments.
