Description
Teaching Opportunity in Chitwan
Teaching in Chitwan provides an opportunity for volunteers to support children in local community and public schools, particularly by helping them improve their English communication skills. Current volunteer programs list Chitwan among their teaching locations, including placements in smaller local schools and communities.
A typical volunteer teacher may:
- Teach English speaking, reading, writing and vocabulary
- Conduct conversation and pronunciation practice
- Prepare simple and creative lessons
- Use games, songs, stories, pictures and activities to make learning enjoyable
- Support local teachers in the classroom
- Teach other basic subjects such as Mathematics or Science when appropriate
- Organize extracurricular activities such as sports, art, quizzes and discussions
The students can range from young children to lower-secondary students, depending on the school. One Chitwan placement describes classes of approximately 20–30 children, ranging from about five years old to the early teenage years.
