    Description

    Who You Are:

You enjoy organizing and are most comfortable in jeans and a t‑shirt. You don’t mind getting a little dusty, you value repurposing, and you thrive in an energetic environment. You want to be part of a group of like‑minded people who share your values and seek an organization that welcomes everyone into the mission. You are looking for an opportunity to be part of something larger and more impactful.

    Who We Are:

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver (Habitat Metro Denver) is part of a global nonprofit housing organization that brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We believe that everyone deserves an affordable, healthy, and stable place to live, and we work to make that possible for families across Metro Denver.

Habitat’s ReStores support this mission by selling donated and purchased home improvement goods and furnishings at a discount to generate funding for affordable housing.

    Overview:

In addition to accepting donated goods, the Denver ReStore purchases merchandise from vendors, liquidation sales, and other partnerships. The Retail Product Prep Core Volunteer provides focused attention to these incoming items—tagging, counting inventory, and preparing them for sale—helping the ReStore remain organized, efficient, and ready for customers.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Become a Habitat for Humanity ambassador by embracing our Cultural Blueprint
    • Tag and label incoming retail products
    • Count, sort, and organize inventory
    • Prepare items for sale on the retail floor (cleaning, grouping, staging, etc.)

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Enjoy organizing and working with physical products
    • Comfortable working in an active warehouse/retail environment
    • Willingness to learn ReStore systems and processes
    • Ability to pass a background check (common across ReStore roles; not explicitly stated in PDF)

    Required Training:

    • Habitat Volunteer Orientation
    • On‑site training by ReStore staff on tagging, sorting, and product preparation
