About the Opportunity

Health Equity Advocates (HEA) is a student-led organization dedicated to advancing health equity and empowering students to understand and address health disparities in their communities. Through education, advocacy, leadership, and community engagement, HEA creates opportunities for students to develop meaningful experience while contributing to conversations surrounding healthcare and public health.

We are seeking Article Writers to contribute educational and engaging written content covering health equity, public health, healthcare disparities, and related topics.

This is an experiential learning and leadership opportunity for students interested in developing their writing, research, communication, and public health knowledge while contributing to HEA's growing body of educational content.

What You'll Do

As an Article Writer, you will:

• Research and write original articles related to health equity, public health, healthcare, and health disparities.
• Explore current and emerging issues affecting health outcomes and access to care.
• Translate public health and healthcare research into clear, accessible content for student audiences.
• Identify credible sources and incorporate evidence into written work.
• Develop article topics and propose ideas relevant to HEA's mission.
• Collaborate with the HEA team to review and refine articles.
• Help create educational content that encourages students to learn about and engage with health equity issues.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome students who:

• Have an interest in health equity, public health, healthcare, medicine, or related fields.
• Enjoy researching and writing about health-related topics.
• Are able to communicate ideas clearly and thoughtfully.
• Are willing to learn how to evaluate credible health and scientific sources.
• Are dependable and able to meet agreed-upon deadlines.

Prior publication experience is not required. Students do not need to be public health or healthcare majors to apply.

Commitment

This is an unpaid experiential learning opportunity. Article Writers will contribute articles and educational content on an ongoing basis based on their availability and the needs of the organization.
