Exhibit Moving Week Volunteer: Help Us Transform the Science Factory!

Something exciting is happening behind the scenes at the Lancaster Science Factory!

We’re making changes to our exhibit spaces, and we need a team of volunteers to help us move, rearrange, organize, and prepare exhibits for their next chapter.

This is a great opportunity to go behind the scenes at a hands-on science museum and be part of the work that makes our exhibits possible. You’ll work alongside Science Factory staff and other volunteers as we physically transform our spaces.

What might you do?

• Help move and rearrange exhibits and exhibit components
• Carry and organize materials and equipment
• Help prepare exhibit spaces for new arrangements
• Assist staff with setup, organization, and cleanup
• Work as part of a team to safely move and position materials

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for dependable, team-oriented volunteers who are comfortable with hands-on work and physical activity.

Some tasks may involve lifting, carrying, bending, pushing, or pulling. Volunteers should be comfortable safely handling objects and following staff directions. No previous museum or exhibit experience is necessary!

This opportunity is especially great for people who enjoy building, tinkering, organizing, moving things around, or simply seeing a project take shape.

What you’ll get out of it

You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how a hands-on science museum changes and maintains its exhibits, while making a direct contribution to the experience we provide for thousands of visitors each year.
