    Description

    Seeking Mechanical Engineer for FEA and Mechanical Cover Design of Maximally Sustainable Eco-Hot Tub for Open Source City Center Designs

    One Community is a nonprofit all-volunteer sustainability think tank. Our volunteer team fluctuates between 150-200 team members and has included over 2000 volunteers representing more than 60 different countries.     We are seeking 1-2 Mechanical Engineers with excellent skills in SolidWorks and FEA to join our team working to finish the DIY cover mechanism, insulation strategy, plumbing, and FEA for what we are open-source designing as the most sustainable and eco-friendly commercial hot tub in the world.

    SKILL REQUIREMENTS

    • Access to and above-average proficiency in SolidWorks and structural, fluid and/or thermal FEA
    • A computer capable of running the simulations
    • Able to communicate and collaborate effectively in a remote work environment
    • Comfortable with or willing to learn Google Docs and Dropbox for collaboration
    • Willing to commit 20+ weekly volunteer hours for at least 3 months (remote work)
    • Bonus: Access and ability to work with AutoCAD (student version is fine)
