Position Overview
PauseAI US is looking to expand its reach to more cities across the country! We are seeking local group leaders to lead local organizing efforts in their cities. This is a part-time volunteer role requiring 5-15 hours per week. Each group leader will be responsible for planning direct actions, mobilizing volunteers, and coordinating with the national PauseAI office.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers for events and campaigns.
- Engage with elected officials, through grassroots lobbying campaigns and district meetings.
- Gather petition signatures and engage the public in PauseAI US’ advocacy efforts.
- Build relationships with local activist groups and media outlets.
- Communicate regularly with the national PauseAI US office and align with broader campaign strategies.
- Manage social media outreach and event promotion in your city.
Qualifications
- Strong organizing skills and experience in grassroots activism.
- Ability to plan and execute direct actions, including workshops and public events.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with diverse communities.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for AI safety and alignment with PauseAI’s mission.
Time Commitment
- 5-15 hours per week, with flexibility.
