    Description

Project Manager Research – A Member of the Client Services Committee

The Coalition to End Homelessness (CTEH) is committed to ending homelessness through advocacy, education, and the provision of limited coordinating services. We are seeking a strong and dedicated advocate to stay abreast of academic studies related to the lack of housing. These studies will include anything peer-reviewed and published in a scholarly journal. The Research Project Manager may review opinions, books, and program data but that is not to be included in the organization’s database or on the organization’s website.

As a result of reviewing scholarly academic data, the Project Manager will provide information to the Coalition Client Services Committee including but not limited to:

    • New studies that might be of interest to members,
    • New findings that may require reassessing how we conduct our work,
    • New findings that may need to be dispersed widely in order to better educate others about any new information that should be taken into consideration when working with and for those without housing.
    • Areas where more research is needed.

The Project Manager for Research will conduct further activities as suggested such as:

    • Advise researchers of priority research needs,
    • Advise service providers of new information that should shape programs,
    • Advise funders of new information that may impact funding.

The Project Manager for Research is encouraged to study the condition of homelessness from various sources and advise the Client Services Committee about anything that may require immediate attention. The Project Manager may also submit reports to the C.E.O. and Board as required.

Furthermore, this position is a volunteer position. Therefore, the person who volunteers for this opportunity may have some additional ideas about how to perform the tasks involved. Because the volunteer is donating their time to the Coalition, the volunteer’s perspective and interests will be weighed heavily. For example, if the volunteer has a keen interest in Family homelessness, or Veteran homelessness, they will be allowed to focus on those issues of greatest interest as long as other requirements of the position are met.
