Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, writing, and managing grant proposals to secure funding for various projects. This role requires strong writing skills, a keen understanding of fundraising strategies, and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments to develop compelling proposals that align with our organization's mission and goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research on potential funding sources and grant opportunities.
- Write clear, persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate project objectives and outcomes.
- Manage the entire grant application process, including timelines and submission requirements.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposal development.
- Edit and proofread grant proposals to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to guidelines.
- Develop financial reports and budgets in alignment with grant requirements.
- Maintain databases of grants applied for and track their outcomes using tools such as Raiser’s Edge.
- Assist in strategic planning and program development initiatives related to funding opportunities.
- Provide support in contract management for awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all terms.
Skills
- Proficient in proposal writing, technical writing, and editing skills.
- Strong research abilities to identify relevant funding sources.
- Experience with contracts and contract management processes.
- Familiarity with databases, particularly Raiser’s Edge or similar software.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong budgeting skills to prepare accurate financial reports for grant proposals.
