    Overview of Role

The Volunteer Adoption Advocates (referred to as Adoption Advocate) will be providing a vital service to New Leash - This service includes but is not limited to assisting through the process of adopting out and providing second chances for the dogs in our care. Adoption Advocates will serve as the primary point of contact for potential adopters, schedule and conduct adoption meets, educate potential adopters, and promote dogs available for adoption, and in some cases assisting to place dogs in need into a temporary foster home. Each adoption advocate will be paired with a specific dog in which the Adoption Advocate will dedicate a specified amount of time to the successful placement of said dog.

    Responsibilities:

    • Contact potential adopters.
    • Schedule, conduct, and review in person adoption meets.
    • Coordinate home visits with the Adoption Coordinator.
    • Promote your dog on social media.
    • Transport your assigned dog to and from the prison for adoption meets, and adoption events.
    • Build a sustainable and supportive relationship with the adopter of the assigned dog.
