Bereavement Caller with Grief Support Services

Volunteer Opportunity: Bereavement Caller with Grief Support Services

Grief Support Services offers a meaningful opportunity for compassionate individuals to provide support for grieving children, teens, and adults. Hospice volunteers are vital members of our team and make a real difference in the lives of those coping with loss.

We are currently seeking Bereavement Call Volunteers to provide phone support for family members of hospice patients who have passed away. Volunteers in this role offer active listening, warmth, and understanding to families as they navigate their grief journey.

    About the Role:

    • Training and Supervision: The role will begin with calls being made in-office under the direct, in-person supervision of our experienced grief counselor. This ensures volunteers feel confident and supported as they learn how to approach these sensitive conversations.
    • Remote Flexibility: After demonstrating comfort and readiness, volunteers may transition to making calls remotely. Ongoing support and guidance from the grief counselor will continue to be provided.

Additional Opportunity for Support: Assistance with other Grief Support administrative needs may also be available for those interested.

Time Commitment: Scheduling is flexible. Volunteers typically dedicate a few hours on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, based on their availability.

Training and Support: Comprehensive training and ongoing guidance are provided by our professional staff.

If you are a compassionate listener and feel called to support grieving families, we encourage you to join our team. Together, we can make a profound impact on someone’s journey through loss.
