    Description

We are seeking a skilled volunteer to help us create a comprehensive, polished guidance document that will prepare our organization for a future Gates Foundation grant application. This document will serve as an internal roadmap to ensure our programs, data, narrative, and organizational structure align with Gates Foundation priorities and expectations.

    What You’ll Help Us Create

The final deliverable will be a clear, well-organized document that includes:

    • A summary of Gates Foundation funding priorities relevant to WAWAC
    • A checklist of organizational readiness requirements
    • Recommendations for strengthening our data, evaluation, and storytelling
    • A narrative framework we can use when drafting the application
    • A list of documents, metrics, and evidence we should gather
    • A step-by-step preparation timeline
    • Any gaps we need to address before applying

    Ideal Volunteer

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

    • Experience with grant writing, grant readiness, or nonprofit strategy
    • Familiarity with large philanthropic funders (Gates Foundation experience is a plus)
    • Strong writing, research, and document-creation skills
    • Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable guidance
    • A passion for supporting immigrant and refugee communities

    Why This Matters

This project will directly strengthen WAWAC’s ability to secure transformational funding that expands food access, community support, and culturally responsive services for thousands of West African families in Washington State.

Your expertise will help us take a major step toward long-term sustainability and impact.
