    Volunteer Board Member - Fundraising Focus

    Location: Remote (with occasional in-person meetings)

    Time Commitment: 10 hours/month

    Term Length: 1-2 years (renewable)

    About Thriving Elements:

    Thriving Elements is a nonprofit organization committed to creating access and opportunities for underserved, underrepresented girls in STEM through mentoring. We aim to develop and empower the next generation of diverse leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

    Role Overview:

    We are seeking a passionate and experienced Board Member with a Fundraising Focus who aligns with our mission and is committed to increasing support for our programs. This role is ideal for someone who wants to use their professional expertise and network to help close the equity gap in STEM education.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support the organization’s mission by contributing to strategic decisions as an active voting board member.

    • Provide leadership and guidance on fundraising strategy, including donor engagement, campaign planning, and event fundraising.

    • Identify and cultivate new funding sources, including individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and grant opportunities.

    • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events or campaigns.

    • Leverage your network to expand awareness and financial support for Thriving Elements.

    • Collaborate with other board members, volunteers, and staff to ensure the financial sustainability of the organization.

    • Participate in regular board meetings bi monthly meetings and fundraising committee meetings (as needed).

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, or nonprofit finance.

    • A strong personal and/or professional commitment to advancing equity in STEM.

    • Experience working with or advocating for underserved and underrepresented communities.

    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    • Willingness to contribute time, talent, and financial resources to support our mission.
