    Description

Full-Stack Developer, Frontend Focus (UI/UX Background)

Organization: Santos Creations Educational Foundation (SCEF)

    Programme: NESA-Africa (2026 Recognition Cycle)

Location: Remote, volunteer can be anywhere in the world

    Time Commitment: Flexible, project-based

Santos Creations Educational Foundation (SCEF) is a pan-African nonprofit advancing education quality, accountability, and inclusion across Africa. This role supports NESA-Africa (New Education Standard Award Africa) — a continental education recognition and accountability platform, launching its inaugural public recognition cycle in 2026 under the motto "The African Blue-Garnet Awards for Education."

    About the Role

SCEF is seeking an experienced volunteer Full-Stack Developer with a genuine UI/UX design background to work directly on the live nesa.africa platform (Next.js, TypeScript, React, shadcn-ui, Tailwind CSS, Supabase). This is real, immediate, high-impact technical work on a live production platform with real governance and data-integrity requirements — not a learning placement.

    Commitment Details

    • Time commitment: flexible, structured around scoped, deliverable tasks
    • Working mode: fully remote, independent execution
    • Availability: responsiveness expected ahead of the 30 August 2026 nominations opening and the 13 December 2026 Recognition Gala

    What You Will Do

    • Resolve integrity-critical issues in the platform's verification and recognition display logic
    • Fix user-facing naming, date, and regional-data inconsistencies across the live site
    • Implement the platform's confirmed brand hierarchy across the homepage and all 22 award category pages
    • Reduce on-page text density and improve visual hierarchy, guided by real usability findings
    • Build out nominee profile pages, local chapter microsites, and volunteer/judge/NRC dashboards

    Governance Principles (Non-Negotiable)

    • No sponsorship, donation, or partnership of any kind may influence nomination, judging, or recognition outcomes — reflected in every UI decision touching nominee or verification data
    • Any code change touching verification, judging, or public-facing vote-count logic requires explicit sign-off before implementation

    Required Qualifications

    • Working proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Next.js
    • A genuine UI/UX design sensibility — demonstrable, independent problem-solving, not just implementation of a given design
    • Comfort working in a live, real production codebase with real governance constraints

    How to Apply

Please submit: a brief note on your relevant experience or CV/portfolio link, and where available, a short write-up of a real UI/UX decision you made and why.
