    Description

Address military conscription in Myanmar - advocate for individuals

The military junta in Myanmar has just implemented universal conscription. This creates an urgent situation for all young people in Myanmar.

This volunteer opportunity is to build a small team of 2-3 people, who will address both the policy and advocacy aspects of the situation. We need to research what are the possible methods to leave the country or achieve safety in the near term and safely share this information with individuals; and at a higher level to search for methods to lobby or sanction to press for the end of this policy.

We have some patterns that have been moderately successful in the past, tho this is a difficult problem you will at least be able to collect backup contact information for youth who may be affected so we can track their situation. All of our work is a bit serious but we also have a great warm community who support each other in it!
