    About Us

    Role Summary

We’re looking for a Volunteer Grant Writer to help us identify strong funding opportunities and develop clear, compelling grant proposals that support and scale our programs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing with purpose and wants to contribute directly to programs that improve leadership and economic mobility outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research & identify grant opportunities aligned with our mission (foundations, corporate giving, local/state/federal, etc.)
    • Develop proposal narratives (need statement, program descriptions, goals/outcomes, sustainability, organizational background)
    • Collaborate with our team to gather program details, budgets (provided by us), timelines, and evaluation metrics
    • Create/maintain a grant calendar with deadlines and submission requirements
    • Support attachments and supporting documents (letters of support, leadership bios, proof points, program one-pagers)
    • Track submissions and help draft follow-up communications as needed
    • Optional (if experienced): help with grant reporting for awarded funds

    Time Commitment

    • 3–8 hours per week (flexible), with heavier weeks around submission deadlines
    • Commitment preference: 4month minimum
    • , with option to extend

    Qualifications (We’re flexible!)

    • Strong writing skills and ability to organize complex ideas into clear narratives
    • Comfortable working with deadlines and details
    • Experience with grant writing, nonprofit development, or persuasive writing is a plus (but not required)
    • Familiarity with education, workforce development, mental health, veteran services, or youth programs is a bonus
    • Able to collaborate virtually (Google Docs/Drive, email, Zoom)

    What Success Looks Like

    • A reliable pipeline of well-matched opportunities
    • Polished proposals that reflect our voice and impact
    • Improved submission consistency and stronger win rate over time

    What We Provide

    • Mission, program descriptions, prior language you can reuse, and organizational background
    • Program outcomes/metrics as available (and help defining them when needed)
    • Budget numbers and financial details (you won’t be expected to create budgets from scratch)
    • A collaborative, responsive team and a clear point of contact

    Why Volunteer With Us

You’ll be contributing to a veteran-led, trauma-informed model that builds leadership and opportunity for women veterans and girls facing systemic barriers—and you’ll see the direct impact of the funding you help bring in.
