    Organization: LoopRoots Foundation

    Location: Remote

    Position Type: Volunteer

    Commitment: 10–15 hours per week

    Start Date: ASAP

Opportunity: Potential transition to a paid position based on performance, program development, organizational need, and available funding.

LoopRoots Foundation is seeking an experienced Volunteer Credit Education & Financial Empowerment Program Developer to help create a practical credit-improvement program for individuals and families served by our organization.

The selected volunteer will help design a step-by-step credit education module that participants can use to understand their credit reports, identify legitimate reporting errors, improve payment and utilization habits, address collections and past-due accounts appropriately, establish positive credit history, and develop a long-term personal credit strategy.

The goal is to create a structured program that clients can walk through independently or with support from a trained LoopRoots staff member or volunteer.

The individual selected will also help pilot and refine the process using real-world scenarios so the final program is practical, easy to understand, and suitable for clients who may have limited previous experience with credit or financial systems.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Developing a step-by-step credit improvement curriculum and participant workbook.
    • Creating a process for obtaining and reviewing credit reports from the major consumer credit bureaus.
    • Teaching participants how to identify potentially inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, or outdated information.
    • Developing compliant templates and instructions for legitimate credit-report disputes.
    • Creating modules on payment history, utilization, collections, charge-offs, inquiries, credit-building products, budgeting, and responsible use of credit.
    • Developing individualized credit action-plan templates.
    • Creating monthly progress trackers and credit-improvement checklists.
    • Developing educational material explaining credit scores and the factors that affect them.
    • Helping participants understand debt verification, creditor communication, settlement considerations, and documentation.
    • Researching reputable credit-building products and financial resources.
    • Creating training materials so future LoopRoots staff and volunteers can facilitate the program.
    • Establishing appropriate confidentiality and document-handling procedures for sensitive financial information.
    • Helping develop intake, assessment, progress, and completion forms for the program.
    • Ensuring program materials focus only on legitimate credit improvement and do not encourage disputing accurate information.
    • Helping LoopRoots establish measurable outcomes such as improved financial knowledge, corrected reporting errors, reduced utilization, successful payment plans, and increased access to housing, employment, transportation, and other opportunities.

We are especially interested in applicants with experience in consumer credit, banking, financial coaching, lending, mortgage services, credit counseling, financial education, consumer finance, accounting, or related fields.

Experience with Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, consumer dispute processes, credit scoring, debt management, or financial coaching is strongly preferred.

This is initially a volunteer position. The role may transition into a paid opportunity based on the quality and effectiveness of the program developed, performance, organizational needs, program growth, and available funding. A paid transition is not guaranteed.

To apply, please submit your resume and a brief explanation of your experience with consumer credit, credit education, financial coaching, lending, banking, credit-report analysis, or related work.
