    Description

    New York Refugee Volunteer Coordinator

    Missionary World Relief is seeking passionate and dedicated Refugee Volunteer Coordinators to support our initiatives focused on assisting refugee communities. The Refugee Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers who will work directly with refugees, ensuring that all activities and programs are carried out efficiently and effectively.

    Responsibilities:

    • Recruitment and Selection: Identify and recruit committed and enthusiastic volunteers to support refugee assistance programs.
    • Training and Development: Organize training sessions to prepare volunteers for their roles, focusing on cultural sensitivity, trauma-informed care, and effective support strategies.
    • Supervision and Support: Oversee and provide ongoing support to volunteers, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to assist refugees effectively.
    • Activity Coordination: Plan and coordinate volunteer activities, such as language classes, job training sessions, legal aid workshops, and community integration events, aligning them with the organization's goals.
    • Communication: Maintain regular communication with volunteers and the central Missionary World Relief team to ensure cohesive and coordinated efforts.
    • Evaluation and Feedback: Assess volunteer performance and provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of support provided to refugees.

    Requirements:

    • Volunteer Experience: Previous experience in volunteer coordination or team management, particularly in programs related to refugees.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse communities.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously.
    • Leadership: Ability to motivate and inspire volunteers, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
    • Commitment: Passion for Missionary World Relief’s mission and a deep commitment to supporting refugees.
