SHIIP Volunteer Receptionist

Do you love helping people? Do you have a knack for just getting things done? We are looking for several volunteers for either on-site or virtual setting to help with our SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) volunteer program.

We are looking for SHIIP receptionists in our Volunteer Services Center. SHIIP receptionists use their time and talent to assist in answering the telephone, taking messages, setting up appointments online, and connecting with the clients and our SHIIP Counselors, providing outstanding customer service!

SHIIP Receptionist's positive and compassionate nature helps set the tone for our many SHIIP volunteers and customers that need appointments throughout the year and during the open enrollment period for Medicare Part D.

Please note, all volunteers must complete a screening process prior to joining the team which includes:

• Placement Interview and Orientation
• Volunteer Handbook Review
• State of Iowa Background check
• National Background check (if applicable)
• Health Screening
  • Covid and Flu Vaccination Required
  • Tuberculosis (TB) Test
• Adults commit to a minimum of 6 months
• Undergrad/Graduate students commit to a minimum of 2 semesters
