    Description

Make a meaningful impact-- on your schedule!

AccentCare Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to support patients and families through our Circle of Care program. Circle of Care Volunteers provide friendly, supportive phone check‑ins that help ensure patients have the comfort, medications, and supplies they need—especially heading into the weekend.

These simple calls make a powerful difference by offering reassurance, connection, and an extra layer of care for patients receiving hospice services in their homes or assisted living communities.

AccentCare Hospice proudly serves patients and families in your local community—wherever they call home.

What Circle of Care Volunteers Do:

Circle of Care Volunteers provide non‑medical, phone‑based support, including:

    • Making weekly “tuck‑in” phone calls to patients or caregivers
    • Asking scripted check‑in questions about comfort, medications, and supplies
    • Offering calm, compassionate listening and emotional support
    • Identifying needs and communicating them to the hospice team for follow‑up
    • Helping ensure concerns are addressed before weekends or holidays

Volunteers do not provide clinical advice—your role is supportive listening and information gathering that allows our care team to respond quickly.

    Why Circle of Care Matters:

    • Reduces after‑hours emergency calls
    • Helps patients feel seen, heard, and supported
    • Strengthens continuity of care
    • Provides peace of mind to families and caregivers
    • Improves patient and caregiver experience during a vulnerable time

Sometimes a brief, kind phone call can make all the difference.

    Time Commitment:

    • Typically a few hours once per week
    • Calls are usually completed on Wednesdays or Thursdays
    • Scheduling is flexible and based on your availability
    • Training is free and designed to fit your schedule
    • This role can often be done from home or the hospice office

    • Enhance resumes, applications, and interviews with meaningful service

For stay‑at‑home parents, retirees, and career changers:

    • Give back in a deeply rewarding and flexible way
    • Stay engaged with your community
    • Use your compassion and life experience where it truly matters
    • Fill resume gaps or explore a new professional direction

    Who can volunteer?

    • Compassionate individuals ages 18+
    • No healthcare background required
    • Must complete volunteer onboarding and Circle of Care training
    • Reliable, kind listeners who are comfortable making supportive phone calls
