Powered By Love: Volunteer & Outreach Chair (The 831 Experience)

The Mission

Powered By Love is a people-powered nonprofit committed to uplifting unhoused and marginalized communities by providing essential resources, such as hygiene supplies, clean water, school supplies, clothing, and food, with dignity and compassion.

We are looking for a Volunteer & Outreach Chair to lead the "The 831 Experience" recruitment and orientation efforts. This 48-hour restorative journey moves 75 unhoused neighbors through eight touchpoints of care, concluding in a formal family-style Gala dinner. You will recruit 100 Guest Navigators and manage staff schedules to ensure a safe, organized, and dignified environment for our Phoenix event.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruitment: Lead the effort to recruit 100 Guest Navigators using the POINT platform.
• Training: Host and facilitate trauma-informed care orientations for all volunteers.
• Scheduling: Manage all volunteer shifts and assignments using Zoho Shifts.
• Outreach: Act as the primary point of contact for community volunteers.
• Day-of Management: Oversee volunteer check-in and deployment during the Phoenix event.

What We’re Looking For

• Leadership: Strong experience in volunteer coordination or human resources.
• Communication: Exceptional public speaking and training skills.
• Commitment: Ability to complete 220 hours of work leading up to and during the event.
• Local Presence: Must be local to Phoenix, Arizona.

Commitment & Compensation:

• This is a volunteer chair position requiring a total of 220 hours. A $5,000 stipend is provided (subject to funding availability) to support the 831 Experience.
